The US policy of isolation toward Cuba continues to cause hardship for the Cuban people. Yet this stagnant, 40-year-old policy has not furthered any US policy goals. The time has come to move from isolation to engagement. An important first step is to end the ban on travel to Cuba.
Both the House and Senate have bills (HR 2071 and S 950) that would allow Americans to freely travel to Cuba. Please write your senators and your representative now. Ask them to co-sponsor these bills and lift the travel ban completely.
