Tell Congress: Families Shouldn't Have to Pay the Price for War

President Trump's war against Iran is causing devastating harm, disrupting lives and livelihoods across the region while adding to the financial pressures facing families in the United States. As food, fuel, and other everyday expenses become more costly, working people are being asked to shoulder the consequences of a conflict they did not choose.

The impacts of this war extend far beyond rising costs. Civilians are facing violence, instability, displacement, and growing humanitarian needs, while economic disruptions are making it harder for families around the world to afford the basics. The people hit hardest are often those least able to absorb the shock.

Congress has a responsibility to act. As lawmakers consider whether to fund the war against Iran, they should hear clearly that constituents want investments in people and communities, not more taxpayer dollars spent on another senseless, unlawful war.

The U.S. should pursue peaceful solutions to international disputes and use military force only as a last resort and in accordance with international law. Elected officials should focus on diplomacy, protecting civilians, and lowering costs rather than funding a conflict that risks causing even greater harm.

Send a message to your members of Congress urging them to oppose funding for the war against Iran and prioritize diplomacy.

Message to Congress

I am a constituent and Oxfam supporter concerned about the war against Iran and the harm it is causing to civilians, families, and communities here in the U.S. and around the world.

I urge you to oppose funding for the war against Iran and take every available step to prioritize diplomacy, uphold international law, protect civilians affected by the conflict, and support policies that help lower costs for families.

At a time when families are already struggling to make ends meet, Congress should focus on lowering costs and strengthening economic security, not spending additional taxpayer dollars on another costly, unlawful war.

This conflict is causing human suffering and economic hardship both abroad and here at home. Congress has a responsibility to pursue peaceful solutions, protect civilian lives, and prevent further harm.
