Letter from Climate Activists to Sign On To
As young activists living on the frontlines of the climate crisis, we’re asking for your solidarity in the campaign to Make Rich Polluters Pay. Every day we’re witnessing the devastating consequences of the climate crisis from villages being swept away by floods and mudslides, to communities ravaged by drought and wildfires. We cannot sit back and watch such climate disasters take place, while the polluters who are most responsible get away with it.
At the heart of the climate crisis lies one of the greatest injustices of our time, driving us to dedicate our lives to climate activism. The richest people, corporations and countries are destroying the planet with their carbon pollution, and the communities that have contributed the least to climate change are paying the highest price. Together, we’re joining with Oxfam to change this, and to demand Climate Justice.
Last year, over half a million people signed our petition to Make Rich Polluters Pay, which we took to COP28 in Dubai. This year, we need even more people to speak up as governments will discuss a new global funding goal for climate action. Join us to demand that the biggest polluters, who are raking in record profits and amassing huge fortunes, pay for the climate crisis they are creating and the costs of building a fairer future. We can raise the trillions of dollars needed to tackle the climate crisis if we make rich polluters pay.
