BECOME AN ACTION TEAM LEADER

Are you ready to make a deep commitment to advancing equality and justice? Do you want to become a powerful organizer and lead the way to an equal future? With comprehensive training and direct 1:1 support from Oxfam staff, you can build a local community of activists to campaign for change!

Action Team Leaders are the core of the Oxfam Action Network for an Equal Future. When you become an Action Team Leader, you’ll recruit people to the movement, train them to become effective activists, and lead them to organize campaign actions like petition drives, advocacy trainings, lobby days and more. You’ll learn to build power in your community and wield it to influence government officials and corporations to address urgent issues of inequality—the climate crisis, economic and racial injustice, and gender discrimination.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and lead a team of at least three activists. Plan local actions and activities that support Oxfam's mission and priority campaigns.
  • Participate in key campaign moments, trainings, and other engagement opportunities.
  • Communicate regularly with Oxfam staff, collaborate on plans, and report Action Team activities.

Eligibility

  • Must serve a 1-year term as an Action Team Leader, with the option to renew annually.
  • Be 18+ years of age and reside in the United States.
  • Complete a self-paced online onboarding training.
  • Reliable access to internet and email is highly recommended.
