PERMANENT Ceasefire NOW: Protect civilian lives in Israel and Gaza

Right now, more than 2 million people in Gaza are still suffering. While access improved during the first phase of the ceasefire, the Israeli government reinstated its blockade of the whole territory on March 2nd, where nearly the entire population remains deeply dependent on humanitarian aid.

The U.S. government is in a unique position to push for the protection of civilians and a lasting end to the fighting that results in real, sustainable security for Palestinians and Israelis.

The Trump administration must do everything possible to achieve and preserve a permanent ceasefire, secure the release of all remaining hostages, and allow unimpeded access for humanitarian aid to reach the civilians who need it right now. The U.S. must stop lethal arms transfers to Israel, which has impeded aid and committed violations of international humanitarian law.

Message to the Trump administration and Congress:

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has not been resolved. Much of the population remains at risk of famine. The Israeli government is again actively blocking the delivery of lifesaving international aid. The risk of waterborne disease continues, following the near complete destruction of water and sanitation infrastructure by Israeli forces.

Independent analysis conducted by Oxfam and Human Rights Watch has revealed that Israel is utilizing U.S. arms in violation of both international and U.S. law, while also impeding humanitarian aid from reaching people in great need.

As an Oxfam supporter I urge you to use your power to seek a permanent ceasefire that:

  • Frees all hostages being held captive by Hamas;
  • Facilitates the sustained delivery of lifesaving assistance, including food, medical supplies, fuel, and the full resumption of electricity and internet to Gaza, in addition to safe passage of humanitarian and medical staff;
  • Allows patients in critical condition to be medically evacuated for urgent care;

A path to peace and justice for all, that includes a fair future for both Palestinian and Israeli people, is the only way forward. We cannot allow the suffering to continue.

Thank you for doing everything in your power to address this humanitarian crisis and de-escalate this dangerous situation.
