Protect USAID and Lifesaving Humanitarian Aid

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)—our nation’s key agency for providing humanitarian aid and advancing development around the world—is under attack. This weekend, Elon Musk and Donald Trump announced plans to dismantle USAID. Vital efforts to provide food, clean water, health care, protection, and lifesaving assistance around the world are now in jeopardy.

These attacks come just days after a chaotic stop-work order that froze lifesaving operations worldwide. Millions of lives and livelihoods are at risk.

USAID has delivered essential aid for over six decades—all for less than one percent of the federal budget. Dismantling it would be a reckless political move with deadly consequences, particularly for those facing the largest humanitarian crises in places like Sudan, Yemen, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Decades of progress in combating poverty and humanitarian crises are at risk of being wiped away.

Take action now to ensure that these lifesaving and life-changing programs are not shut down.
