MAKING "TAX THE SUPER-RICH" VISIBLE
Inequality is accelerating—not by accident, but by design. Super-rich individuals are using their obscene fortunes to tilt our economy, our politics, and our civic spaces even further in their favor, leaving the rest of us with less.
We’re inviting you to be part of a national moment of creative action to make the call to economic justice impossible to ignore. Using our “Tax the Super-Rich” stencils, you’ll place temporary messages in public spaces to elevate the call to tax extreme wealth.
Check out the full "Tax the Super-Rich" Stencil Toolkit for more details and guidance.
How it works
1. Request a stencil
Fill out this form and we’ll mail you a “Tax the Super-Rich” stencil and washable chalk so you can get started.
2. Choose a good location
Use your stencil to place temporary messages in public-facing spaces—especially sidewalks, plazas, and other high-traffic areas—so more people see, think about, and talk about taxing extreme wealth. You can also use the stencil to make t-shirts, signs, posters, and artwork, or at events! The goal is simple: get the message seen!
3. Stencil, then share photos & video!
Take photos and video of your creations and post on social media! (tag @oxfamamerica) Then, email them to brody.armstrong[at]oxfam.org
Do it safely! This is meant to be temporary, non-destructive public art.
- Use washable chalk only.
- Stick to public spaces.
- Follow local rules about sidewalk chalk.
- Never stencil on private property without permission.
- If you’re ever asked to stop or clean it up, just comply and move on.
Every stencil adds up. Every sidewalk becomes a conversation starter. Together, these small, visible actions help challenge the idea that extreme inequality is normal—and reminds people that taxing the super-rich is both popular and possible.
