Prioritize Gaza’s recovery

Six months after a ceasefire was declared in Gaza, Palestinian families are still suffering. The ceasefire agreement called for an immediate scale-up of aid, but instead, humanitarian access remains a fraction of what’s needed. The Israeli government continues to block sufficient food, water, medical supplies, and other essentials. Millions of civilians remain displaced, living without proper sanitation, shelter, or health care.

Against the backdrop of the war with Iran and instability across the region, Gaza’s ongoing humanitarian catastrophe is being pushed out of the headlines. But the crisis has not gone away. The lack of meaningful aid access in Gaza is not a logistical problem—it’s a political one. Humanitarian organizations like Oxfam and our local partners are ready to deliver assistance, but the systems needed to reach civilians have been shut down.

Congress has a critical role to play. Lawmakers must urgently prioritize Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction. Palestinians deserve safety, dignity, and the chance to rebuild.

Message to Congress

I urge you to push for humanitarian aid for Gaza. Six months after the ceasefire in Gaza was declared, Palestinian families are still facing severe shortages of food, clean water, medical care, and shelter—because the Israeli government is still actively blocking aid access for critically needed services and supplies. Please use your authority to push for an end to this destructive conflict and prioritize Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction.
