The expanded Global Gag Rule blocks humanitarian organizations that receive U.S. funding from providing vital health care and lifesaving aid—or forces them to risk losing that funding. The result is less care, more suffering, and more lives put at risk. These restrictions weaken effective humanitarian programs and disproportionately harm people facing crisis, poverty, and systemic exclusion.

The expanded Global Gag Rule also cuts off U.S. funding to aid organizations based on ideas they express that this or future administrations may disagree with. This approach silences trusted organizations, weakens community‑led responses, and threatens freedom of expression that is essential for effective humanitarian and public health work.

U.S. foreign assistance should save lives and protect dignity—not censor communities or weaken effective humanitarian work. Please act to overturn the expanded Global Gag Rule.
